Klimator signs agreement with Norway's leading winter contractor

On November 13th Klimator entered into a five-year agreement with Mesta AS, the market-leading winter contractor in Norway. The agreement involves a step-by-step implementation of Road Status Information in Mesta's operations and will contribute to the extensive digitalization of the winter maintenance industry in Norway, to enable smarter and better decision making.

“We are delighted to expand our services to Norway and especially by entering into a commercial agreement with Norway's leading winter contractor. We will start providing our high-resolution road weather forecasts this upcoming winter and through the collaboration with Mesta AS we will also launch entirely new algorithms and climate models for sand and drift snow, which adds important functionality for winter contractors operating in the northernmost latitudes. The collaboration is part of Mesta AS strategic investment in digitizing and transforming their operations in winter road maintenance. The agreement with Mesta strengthens our position as a market leader for digitized decision support for winter road maintenance ”, says Emil Danielsson, responsible for the Winter Maintenance business area at Klimator.

About Road Status Information

The Road Status Information is a Software as a Service that provides support to winter maintenance contractors by enabling fact-based decision making. The platform on which RSI is built collects and processes data from a variety of different sources and integrates this with Klimator's advanced climate models to provide high-resolution road forecast forecasts.

These forecasts enable winter contractors to make critical decisions about when, where and how to take action for snow removal and de-icing. In winter road maintenance, there is a great focus on prevention. Road Status Information provides highly-accurate forecasts with a very high degree of detail which makes it easier for winter contractors to plan and streamline their work.  RSI can contribute to cost savings of up to 30 per cent, a reduced climate footprint through reduced salting and safer roads to travel on.
